Land banks are a very successful tool in Michigan to help revitalize distressed communities. Our focus is ensuring that Michigan Land Banks have the statewide policies, support, and capacity to effectively operate local land bank programs.
20-Year Impact of Land Banks
A new report quantifies the impact of all land banks in Michigan, something never done before. The study reveals that local land banks are economic game changers across Michigan - in the state’s cities, rural communities, and everywhere in between. Results show that land banks improve neighborhoods and commercial corridors, decrease vacancies, increase population, and overall, positively impact the communities they serve.
