Muskegon County awarded $1.8 million to fight residential blight
Muskegon County has received significant funds in its ongoing effort to fight residential blight.
The Michigan Homeowner Assistance Nonprofit Housing Corporation in partnership with the Michigan State Housing Development Authority recently announced that it has awarded a $1.8 million grant to Muskegon County.
Muskegon County and the Muskegon County Land Bank are partnering to eliminate blight in both rural and urban areas in the county. Projects will include demolition to stabilizes existing neighborhoods, as well as demolition of properties that are connected to economic development opportunities.
